A rare variation restored by "Thor", with close-up pix.

Seller insisted on $2600 and bidder insisted on $2400. For a gun in this price range, people stucking on $200 for weeks. That requires lots of patience.

Alvin,

The seller is a respected forum member. It is a rare piece restored or not. Ryan has some nice guns, and knows his stuff.

Thanks Ron!

I just noticed the gun was relisted today with $2400 reserve. It's a very rare gun, only 1000 were made. I was not the bidder in the earlier sessions, otherwise, it's a great oppertunity to own a Persian C96.

Really? He doesn't sound too impressed with Thor's work...

"The gun was restored by Ted "Thor" Green of Texas for what that is worth."

The problem with Mauser -- there is a variation, but it's hard (hard? actually impossible) to find one. Say Persian, original 98% BB value is $4500-$5000, expansive, but it's OK, where is it? There is no such an animal. Period. Even restored one is scarce.
