Artillery Luger ID and possible value?

Hello, all.....
This Luger has been offered to me, complete with holster, tool, and matching mag.
The woman who owns it, is 88 years old and it belonged to her husband, who was a WWII vet.

I have no other photos, and it was like pulling teeth to get these.

I had her check, and she says that the same number is on all the parts, including the mag bottom.

I hope that these photos, although less than desirable, will be enough for someone to give me a ballpark figure on value.

Assuming that the other stuff matches and there are no surprises, I'm guessing around $3K-$3500.

I would have guessed a grand lower...but I'm not knowledgeable in this area...

Offer her $1000...

I could be too generous, but I'm seeing a very nice matching Artillery, that I'd guess is much better property than the $2500 roaches floating around. And the holster is pretty good property too.
Anyone else think I'm too high?

Make sure you personally verify that the gun is as good as you think it is (condition, matching, etc.) and offer a fair price that is closer to Davids estimate. I'm not much in favor of taking advantage of an elderly widow. Someday my widow might need the same consideration.

Is this the same 88 year old woman that is also trying to sell you that Femaru that sold on Gunbroker as recently as June?? Interesting lady, although I might be just a bit suspicious of her story.

There's a lot of nice things an 88 year old widow could buy with $1000...Or she could turn it in to the local Police and have it made into a manhole cover...

Bob, I wouldn't pay a great deal extra for the holster..from what I can see it is in pretty poor shape.
Is the pistol a 1918?
