Himmler's mistress's shotgun ?
All...... I purchased this shotgun sometime ago and have been researching it since. There are 2 names on the capture paper, a Thomas Barrick and a Linus LeTang. Both were in the MI section ( Military Intelligence ). They were the guys who got in in there immediately after capture. This shotgun and a Walther pistol were taken as war trophys by LeTang from Himmler's Tergensee estate. I have contacted LeTangs family but cannot find an avenue to Barrick. Does anyone know a route to the military records to be able to find him, or his family ? The book " HIMMLER " by Peter Padfield , on page xii of the acknowledgements shows Haschen Potthast as his mistress and second family. On page 184 her name appears as his personal secretary, pg 233 sexual relief with Potthast, pg 320, her side of the relationship, pg. 366, Himmler sets her up in a house, pg 488, Haschen is pregnant again, pg 514, she bore Himmler's second child, pg 539, Himmler's conversation with Bormann about Potthast, pg 608, Himmler was " lying low " with Haschen in Flensburg. This was to be the last he saw of her. It seems only logical that since they had a family life together, she would accompany him on hunts with other part members, and participate. The shotgun has " H P " engraved right behind the lock. The serial number of the Collath gun is located under the front handguard, 7022. I've got documentation from LeTang's side but am still trying to get Barricks background also. Any help would help posterity, in finishing the story of this magnificent shotgun. Thanks in advance and if anyone wants additional scans, just contact me, myky@ctesc.net.

Mike,
The monogram is "KP". Maybe Haschen's father?

Ron...... thanks guy ! This only deepens the mystery..... It had to be someone of distinction to be in Himmlers house. I wish I knew the answer... Maybe one of our more learned colleagues can offer some helpful information ?

Do not rule out the possibility the gun may have been looted during the high days of the third reich and given to Himmler, who I believe was fond of firearms.
