Default Pawel nowak email militaria scam, beware!!!!!!!!!

Just today i received an email from someone claiming they were known as 'Pawel Nowak' and asking if i would be interested in purchasing some militaria they had up for sale. Mainly daggers, swords, knives and helmets, mostly german stuff, and luger stuff also. Next came a flood of pictures of mostly great looking stuff. Then the catch, which was also with the prices. ''Why of course'' I thought to myself, ''I'll gladly take your mint 5 thousand dollar luftwaffe officer's german antique dress dagger for 300US'', if only he was serious. The prices are obviously horrendously bargained, and it is followed by some BS story about him being a diving/shipwreck artifact/relic hunter. A 10 second yahoo search brought up page after page of people burnt by this scumbag, for pistols, luger items, swords, daggers, almost any german militaria piece you can name, and then some. The US are after him, the Dutch, the Russians, his own homeland Poland, he's been beaten up, supposedly put in jail, but it seems he still hasn't got the message and is still using the same info. HEADS UP TO ALL, you know the drill, if it sounds too good to be true, it is, be VERY careful of this guy, apparently the pictures (even onsite relic pictures included) are all legit, as is possibly the story, but the guy is a known con artist and scammer. WAY TOO MANY have been burned.
Truth be told, i really have NO idea how he got my email, and knows i'm into german stuff, and frankly, i don't wanna know. This is the only site i visit concerning the german gear. Scary stuff indeed. Spread the word like wildfire

Yes, he has been brought up numerous times, he must scour the internet for gun site emails.

If SENT from a site like us or Gunboards, he does NOT have your email address unless you respond....

He's really doing the rounds this time, been mentioned on a german medal forum, another edged items forum, and a japanese sword forum, even some local forum to him about real shipwreck artifacts, !
Ed, that's the scary thing, i use a different email to the one that is attached to this account, it is the other email it went to!
You're right though, a quick search of this site alone show's he has been at it for years and years, still with the same old story and name. Jeez, some people NEVER learn. He figures if he adds some numbers to the email address, all is well

Exclamation The scumbag is back in business

I just learned that P N is back "in business", offering nazi swords, daggers and japanese militaria.
I was trying to find some information about a German dragoon rgt. on a great german swords collectors forum,(blankwaffenforum) they just announced that Pawel Nowak has tried to ripp off some members over there.
His actual nick is HORATIO

Ironically the clown tried to rob another unsuspected collector, once again. It was about a month ago. Great that you guys mentioned this scumbag. he was trying to sell a SS dagger to a guy for $1600 or so(half its value) and the guy was smart enough to ask about the item before he purchased it and a member on warrelics spotted his MO. which is always 50 cents on the dollar. they spotted him easily, but I wont say how, incase the dirtbag is reading.

the guy was lucky he asked for an opinion!

No question, I'm going to pull his chain and string him along as long as I can keep him on the hook thinking he has a live one with deep pockets.........

The key to keeping him dangling on the line is to repeatedly request bonafides from him. The absolute master at this is "The Scam Baiter" who gets these Nigerian scammers to do the most outrageous stuff on film just to prove they are legit. Of course a lack of english from the Nigerian scammers helps in the fun, but I'm sure you will glean ideas for going after Mr. Nowak with more finesse from this site;

I have recently had an email from him in reply to an advert he placed on Gunstar, he was advertising a 1946 and 1941 luger holster both for £200. As soon as I saw his name on the email I told gunstar and they have banned him from there and eleted all his adverts

Doug,

This thread livened up again, and I noticed this post. I stumbled across 419baiter.com ten year or so ago. All this in response to desperate scammers in Nigeria who somehow have computer access to the net. The 410 comes from the phone code for Nigeria. The counter-ploys are usually hilarious! The scammers call their victims "mugus", which means "big fool"; ironically, the term is now used to refer to the scammers, themselves. How do you persuade someone who is trying to scam you to send you a pic of him/hermself holding a dead fish on top of their head? Check out a couple of these sites and find out how it is possible to counteract an email from a princess that asks to use your bank account to park a half a million dollars temporarily--of course, you'd get a hefty cut!

I am shopping for Range Rovers and Jaguars almost all the time. Ran into SEVERAL scammers (maybe the same "outfit"), that advertise prices too good to be true. But you never know. I was a car dealer in the 90s, and some people ARE actually going through divorces, hardships, etc. and sell their stuff CHEAP.

So once I contact these, and some BS story usually follows,......"car is in XX city ready to be shipped, transaction will be handled through Ebay, the current owner is in XX city/country/being "deployed" etc." I send the "seller" an email, agreeing to everything, and offering to pay with the cashier's check from my employer (AT&T, Coca Cola,....imagination) that I just happen to have in my possesion, ready to mail out. The check is about 2K OVER the asking amount, and all the seller has to do, is to deposit this check in his/her bank account, and WIRE me the difference! I even offer a reward (5-6 hundred over the asking amount for the vehicle, ...just for his trouble). I also tell them how I trust them to wire me the difference, and I will take the possesion of the vehicle in the city specified.

Nobody EVER took my "offer", and I never heard back from them.

The other scam is an email or phone call claiming you have a virus which will wipe out everything unless you purchase their program to remove the virus immediatly or lose everything. Its all fake and seems to be out of India. They even have a site that downloads the virus and holds you hostage~~~There will always be scams as long as there is GREED!

this so called Nowak organization (as I believe its not a single individual) scammed several newbies in the german militaria collectors world and has been banned from multiple sites. but their persistence pays obviously.
