Default 41/42 Luger with Black grips

I have a Mauser 41/42 with matching numbers and black grips - which appear to be original, according to descriptions by a Luger expert.
Who has exact knowledge of the mfg of these guns by Mauser in that period and whether they document production of this weapon as a Black
Widow that is not a "byf" stamped item. The grips are perfect and smooth, with the inside screw hole into which the grip screw fits.

Charles Kenyon indicated that these conditions may indicate that the grips are original ......... does anyone else have some info about that??

Thanks, Ben Carter

Welcome Ben.

Several collectors have databases on production of certain models. Please indicate your complete serial number (including any suffix character) on the front of the frame and one of them will comment on your pistol manufacturing history.

If you want to know if the grips are original, please post good clear focus photos of the both the inside and outside of the grips... I have expertise in this area. I can generally tell if they are genuine or reproductions. Just because they have a screw hole on the inside does not make them genuine. The fakers have done that for years.
