Default Hope I didn't make a mistake.......

I just bought these Luger parts off Gunbroker. My goal is to get one good refinished shooter out of this and sell the remaining parts. From what I have seen on other sites, parts are pretty scarce. Anything I should know or any suggestions on how to pull this together is appreciated. I'm sure someone here can give me some tips. By the way, I paid $530 for the lot. I figure one good shooter will make it worthwhile.

It looks like your firing pin is broken.

I have 10 or 12 firing pins, some unmarked, some numbered. I'd trade two firing pins for two take down levers?

You did good on your deal.

You are missing a mainspring...KLooks like a lot of the coil springs are missing. No trigger spring, no extractor spring. You will need a couple more parts to get to shooter status!

Take a closeup photo or two of the barrels so I can see the threads... you MAY not have a useable barrel if the threads are messed up.

Do any of the barrels have a decent bore?

The photo you have already posted is not in sharp focus, but it appears that from the bottom up, only the 2nd, 3rd and 4th barrel may be candidates for reinstallation into a receiver. The rest have had their flange removed to make disassembly of the barrel/receiver easier. This is a technique used by some when the reuse of the barrel is not anticipated.

Springs are not that expensive... you just may get a shooter out of this.

I just won it today and the picture is from the seller. I still have to pay for it and wait for it to arrive. I plan to put a Wolf Spring service pak in it and may need some other small parts that I hope to buy or trade for on this board. I will keep updating as this progresses.

davjed,

Here is a quick assessment of parts which are unusable.

Your frame is a 1906, grip-safety style frame. To assemble this gun with a grip safety, you will need the grip safety itself and an appropriate spring. It cannot be told from the picture, but the sear bars may not work with a grip safety. Also, the thumb safety lever may not work with it, and you will need a grip-safety style left grip.

Alternatively, the gun may be assembled as a standard P08 by leaving off the grip safety and using a standard left grip; however, the safety bar and thumb safety lever may not work with this frame.

Be sure to obtain a takedown lever spring.

Dav:
One of your extractors is marked "Loaded" . It is more valuable than
the one marked "Geladen"

Default extractor.....

Thanks for the heads up on the extractor Ken. The would be the one from an American Eagle model I assume. I will probably use the one that looks best instead of the model. Still waiting to hear from the seller on the total amount so it will be a while before I get these.
