Help with holster ID

Howdy,
I'm mainly a Cowboy Action Shooter but my Dad who is a WWII vet brought home a P-38 Walther but had it in a Luger holster. My guess is the holster is worth more than his P-38 since it looks like a very late War production Spreewerkes make with the cvq mark vice the cyq mark.

Any way, the holster has these marks at the top:

Johann Biertz
G.M.B.H
VI?RSEN
19?6

The ? marks are letters I can't make out.

Any info you can give would be interesting.
