Ken, welcome to the forum. I have never heard of a luger made by Navy Arms Co. I am assuming you are talking about the luger "look-a-likes" that look like lugers but are not true lugers?

Stoeger had a 22 luger and there was a look a like that was a carbine.

Actual lugers were made in 7.65mm and in 9mm, all prior to WW2.

Mauser re-did the luger in the 1970's and then there were other post-war lugers made (but in 9mm).

This is navy arms, they make recreations of american arms, but I did not see anything on lugers...

Where did you come up with the name "Navy Arms Co.?" It has nothing to do with Lugers. Are you possibly referring to a "Navy Luger?"

hey thanks Edward for the welcome,I went to the navy arms website about a month ago and couldn't find nothing on this luger.22
When I seen the word LUGER on the gun the haggling was on and ended up trading a 3 year old colman 18 volt drill and circular saw.....so i'm at websites looking at lugers for sale and the jaw is dropping as I'm looking at prices and then seeing a sale for a 22 kit for 1200.00??whats up with that?...but anyways I was just in AWW.....but i come here and maybe I would find category of navy lugers..hehe.....that was over quick...so i'm pretty much at a loss.but thanks for the welcome and the info.

It looks like just like the Stoeger Luger .22. The Luger logo is the same as Stoeger's USA copyrighted. Could it have come from the same factory production ( maybe foreign) but have been imported and branded by Navy Arms prior to the Stoeger branded era ?
Or possibly, Stoeger production, sold over-seas, and re-imported later by N.A.

After Stoeger discontinued making their .22lr luger copy, Navy Arms continued to market them. TH

I've had my Stoeger 22lr since I was 13. I fell in love with Lugers before that, when I saw my uncles collection of (real) Lugers. I saved my money from odd jobs and it was the first gun I ever bought. It was purchased by my older brother who was old enough at the time. It was the only (Luger) I could afford.
Since then I've shot thousands of rounds through it with no malfuntions. It's never jammed no matter what kind of ammo I put in it... whatever was on sale. It's also one of the most accurate guns I've shot, and I've shot plenty.
I always here negative things about them and don't know why. I guess just because I'm bragging about it, the next time I shoot it , it'll explode.

As far as most are concerned, these pistols only have value as shooters and best shot with high velocity .22LR, such as Super Vel. That said, they are still more reliable than the Erma .22 copies. TH

I had one, with an unnoticed hairline crack in the receiver right over the barrel, 'thought it was a mold seam, 'cause it was straight. It never fed reliably, was poorly engineered and constructed, IMHO. Sheet metal toggle parts, alloy frame (not too bad), steel barrel screwed into an alloy fork, (not too good ).
The worst thing is the distorted shape of the rear of the gun. Big Ermas look no better. The shape of a real Luger is so refined and well balanced, that just any approximate copy is likely to look awful. The only Luger copy I have ever seen with a proportionally correct shape is the smaller Erma Luger KGP models KGP69 in .22LR, and the KGP68/a in .32 and .380.
Stoeger's (aka Mitchell's) Luger in stainless steel, made in Houston TX, are nearly exact copies of the original German P08, but are made of so soft a metal it might as well be aluminum. And look like a Luger with a terminally severe buff job.
