takedown lever broken

Hi,

I just bought my first Luger, a 41 byf with everything matching except the magazine. The problem is that one of the previous owners has somehow managed to break the takedown lever.

Is there a way to get a replacement?

I'm from Croatia and Luger parts and accessories market virtually doesn't exist here.

P.S.
It would be a dream come true if that lever would have number 73 stamped on it

Can you send me a detailed picture of the lever, have repaired several here on LF and repair is undetectable.....it could be fixed and reparied to like new condition

I don't have it yet, I'm waiting for a permit.
The round serrated (checkered) part of the lever is missing, if that helps...

..who in their right mind uses a hammer to close the lever.. instead of pushing the upper part slightly to the rear

Yes, exactly like that! And I thought mine was the only one!
How can that be fixed without noticing the difference?

Hrvoje,

Howard (policeluger) was able to save an excellent 1918 DWM for me. The gun was all matching, but the takedown lever had been broken. I didn't want to replace the part, even if I could have found one with the same number, because the broken lever was original to the Luger.

Howard did a great job, and the Luger is now all original . . . and matching.
Even if the takedown lever has been repaired, it has been with the gun for all its existance.

For mine, it required a donor part, as I did not have the button. Howard took a "donor" take down lever and put that part back on. He fixed one for me, from the front it could not be detected. Howard (policeluger) did this for me a couple of years ago. I'd rather do that than pop on an unmarked one.

It finally arrived earlier this week...
I've decided to leave it as is for the time being since it is the original part and it's still functional. Plus I cannot send gun parts from Croatia to USA and back.

Interestingly enough, I found one numbered 73 just a few miles away from me, but it's on another perfectly good Luger...
