Default Luger Question

I usually notice a fair amount of lugers at gun shows, and lately have taken a fancy to maybe buying one. I would want a shooter- not a collector's piece, so I don't care if it has been reblued or import marked. I do care if it doesn't have matching numbers on the major parts, is rusty beyond a few specks here and there, or has a bad bore. What is a reasonable price, and are there any special things I should look out for?

$300-$450, Matching #s = Good, Match(ed) #s not as good but ok, non-matching #s = same as matched. Any will be ok for a "shooter" Just make sure everything is in good working order (Note; the toggle action should not have any play BUT should not be so tight that is will not function) as far as dates, proofs, manufacture, etc that's just a personal preference.

Good Luck

Jesse

Jihad, Suggest that you check our classified section. Several shooter grade PO8s available.

Default Jihad10...

If you're only going to shoot it, then matched numbers shouldn't be an issue. You will generally pay more for matching numbers, and does that matter if all you are doing is shooting it? I would go for a great bore over matched numbers. One has to be a little wary when purchasing from an unknown source, but we here at the Luger Forum can unequivocably say that any of the Lugers in the classifieds sold by Tom Heller will be as advertised and will be excellent value. Tom is a reputable dealer, and a frequent contributor to this forum. There are other good sources such as AIM Surplus, but you won't know what you are getting with them. These dealers can be found in our Link & Resources section. Good Luck.
