Ok, this is just all wrong! He claims it is a "pre test" gun, but it has a later style safety lever.
Of course this could have been changed, but the toggle is blank. Further it looks like it has been refinished.

Or am I wrong? I am not up on test guns.

Very unusual indeed.

You are right that the safety lever should be type-2. Of course, the sideplate is mismatched. There are several other things which the pictures hint at but do not reveal.

"Pre-test" is meaningless as a special circumstance, serial number 554x is simply a 1900 lower than the US Test range.

There sure isn't much left of the AE chamber marking...probably lost in a re-do or two...

The right side frame rail just at the toggle lock shows no silver-solder vertical "lines" either.

And where the heck is the "DWM" on the toggle link ?

What do you suppose the extra barrels are about or am I missing something?

Side plate is not only mismatched but off of a military marked P-08 (one of several interchangable parts with a 1900). Obvious evidence of buffing on the receiver. This would make a nice shooter at the right price. KFS
