Problem with Erma KGP magazines

I've purchased several KGP magazines on the internet - for both the -68 and -69 models. Some of them refuse to insert fully into the pistol. A micrometer shows that they're several mills larger than the ones that came in the guns, and I've tried filing and polishing those areas. But I'm not making much progress.

In high school metal shop, we used a blue dye to make scribings on sheet metal easier to see. I think the same stuff, applied to the magazine, would show me where the zero-clearance is. But I have no idea what it's called, or where to buy it. Any help?????

Prussian Blue, a machinists powder for this purpose. Call a machine shop, and they will prob. be happy to let you have a small amount.

I have two KGP69 Erma's, and the original magazines are bright metal with blackened alloy bases, never having a problem with fit.
Also have some aftermarket magazines, with bright shiny silver colored alloy bases, that are variably problematic, some just fine, some impossibly sticky in the gun. I found that pressing in the sides of the fluted magazines would often reduce the total circumference and relieve the tight fit. Use a wooden dowel or what-have-you, or with strong thumb pressure.

PM, If they are tight immediately upon insertion in the mag well, I'd make sure that the grip screw aren't too long. If only binding at the top, try the about squeezing solution. Or better yet purchase some original ones. What caliber do you need? TH
