Default I Am Back

Hello All,

It has been several years since I was on the Forum, but I am back!

First, I would like to say HELLO to all my old friends from the Forum; Ted, Tom A., Tom H., G.T., Hugh, Ed, John S., John D., DOC, and others! Also, a hello to all the new guys that I don't know yet.

I have not been doing much Luger collecting lately, but I still have all the nice rigs from years ago. One thing I have noticed is that the price of Lugers have been increasing, LOL. Good for me with the ones I have, and not so good for my pocketbook for the ones I will be buying!

I can't access the Forum from work anymore (darn firewalls!), but I will get on as often as possible.

Marvin

Marvin, welcome back! Yes, I remember you, was thinking of you the other day about PPK's.

There are some really good guys who are now on the forum, a few guys like me that know everything (use books to pretend) and others

Hey Guys,

Thanks for the Welcome Back!!!

I am looking forward to participating again as time permits. I have been out of town a good bit lately and the darn Firewalls the company has installed keeps me off most of the Forums I like including the Luger Forum. But I will be involved again.

Have you guys been buying a LOT of nice Lugers lately? Man, the price has really jumped at places like Simpsons Ltd. I was at a local gun show last weekend and there was an all matching AE Luger there I thought about. It had approx. 50% bluing, but the the left grip panel was broken in half and one part missing, and the right panel was decent. Good Ole Ted could have really perfomed a nice job on this one. I sort of wish I have bought it, and the guy was asking $650, but I think I could have gotten it for a little less. Ah well, I am keeping my eyes open, LOL!

Hello Hugh,

Yea, Yea, I know! This was a bad mistake on my part, but you know how it is sometime, we all have those moments where logic seems to disappear.

I am not sure if the guy sold it or not, but you can bet I will be on the lookout for more good buys like that! Most of the other Lugers at the show that day were all ovepriced and not up to "collector" status. Unless a dealer know Lugers, most of them think they are worth what they are asking, but in reality, they are WAY overpriced. Anothr Dealer had a couple of Lugers that were in the high grade "shooter" catagory and they wanted full value for a 50-60% pistol. I still feel the old saying that a "blind squirrel can find an acorn" remains good. Next gun show for me maybe, LOL!
