Default White film on holster??????

I have a dull black 1936 holster in a group stacked on a show case 3 ft off the floor in a heated, air conditioned basement. Every two weeks I have to wipe off a thin even whitish film from inside and out of this holster. It is the only one in the group of 24 I have that does this. I had 4 to lay on the floor for several months and they didnt have this film. Any ideas?????? I tried to contact Jerry Burney but email came back undeliverable...........

PJ, Hard to say without seeing the holster. Rub your finger along the stuff and collect some, then rub your fingers together and see if it is slick or greasy. Likely it is oil and fats leaching out of the leather. People put the goop on and later it rises to the surface. Looks like white mold but many times I have found it is not. Jerry Burney

PS, I did get your eMail.
