OK, I have been working this morning to determine if the information I received on the grips was correct or not. After a couple of calls to Germany this morning I now know the truth. Patrick was correct; Gortz did fake up this tale! I was shocked that he would do that and my friend in Germany was also.
This was an attempt to find more information with some type back-up as to when the black grips began to be used and not to discredit anyone. Bill M. makes some very good points, but we disagree as to the exact time they began to be used. This is OK, as there is no problem with this; we all want to know as close as possible when they were begun. My problem is that I was out of town and never had a chance to look at the Forum until Thursday morning. Wow, did I get jumped on for this information which I took to be correct. I was not able to get on the Forum, or make any calls to verify if the story was true before getting "beat-up" for trying to pull a "Hoax" on everyone. This is not my nature to do this and I am surprised at the tone from some of you in the postings. If I make a mistake I will be the first one to say "wow, I was wrong" and try to correct it. I was almost ready to give up on this Forum, but I decided this morning that no, I would not do that. I am now going on a trial basis to stay with the Forum to see if anything does change. I sure hope that some of the tones in posting improve when there are disagreements. This is a fun thing for us and educational for all Luger lovers. As stated earlier, "we can agree to disagree and still remain friend". If the tone of postings don't reflect this there will be problems. In closing, give someone time to respond to a disagreement, don't just assume and jump on them. No offense will be taken by me from anyone. Marvin |
