Tech Question on using the Board

When I log into the Lugerforum, I come up every time with the same specific message.

Curiously enough, it happens to be the very first message I looked at when I first come to the forum some 2-3 weeks ago.

I then have to hit "Message Board" to get the "index"

I would like to set it up so that I come up with the "Index" when I first log on (the logical start point).

How do I set this up?

Hi, first set your bookmark to http://www.lugerforum.com and you should come up with the home page instead of a message. You should delete the old bookmark first.

Second, to attach a pic you have to make sure it is smaller than 80K, then upload it at the end of the message (scroll down to the dialogue box you have to click on) you will get a message back telling you where it was stored on the Lugerforum site's server. Paste or type this address into the box there and post the message. Like everything else, it gets easier once you do it. Try it, it works great.

With all due respect to Bill's instructions... perhaps an easier way to upload a photo would be to click on the link at the top of the message index titled "Upload Photo". Read the instructions there for uploading a photo. Once you submit your photo, there will be a link printed there on that screen showing URL of your photo. Copy that URL address, then return to the message index and make a new posting or reply to an existing posting. When your message typing is complete, at the bottom of your post, just above the POST and PREVIEW buttons, you will see a field titled "Optional Image URL. Paste the URL you copied into this field, (making sure you delete the "http://" printed by default in there) and PREVIEW or POST your message as you would normally. Your picture will appear as part of your post. The biggest mistake most new users make, is forgetting to remove the default HTTP info, as your copied URL already contains this info.

hmmmm..maybe THAT'S why none of my pics ever show up..

I agree, the default http:// is a real 'show-stopper'.
