Erfurt imperial luger 1914
Hi
I'm a french handgun collector I have buy yesterday this Imperial luger from Erfurt marqued 1914 this gun come with a suisse second type magazine only for info on the barrel near the serial number is a very small s/42 the same s/42 is marqued on the right wood plaquette any one now this mark ? I'm sorry for my english (I have lose some words) jean marie sorriaux

Hello Sorriaux,
Welcome to the forum. The S/42 mark indicates that the barrel is a Mauser made armorers replacement. This pistol saw service in both wars. The barrel was replaced some time after 1936. As the S/42 code was assigned to Mauser from 1936-1942. Hope this is helpful? Ron
