Hello Sorriaux,

Welcome to the forum. The S/42 mark indicates that the barrel is a Mauser made armorers replacement. This pistol saw service in both wars. The barrel was replaced some time after 1936. As the S/42 code was assigned to Mauser from 1936-1942.
Hope this is helpful? Ron
