You charge either with electrons and the way they are stored differ not the end result. |

Better go back to electricity school. You are confusing "re-chargable" or "storage" batteries and true batteries. A "battery" converts chemical energy to electricity(i.e. "electrons"), the chemicals are used up in the process and such batteries cannot be "re-charged" as the chemical reaction is not reversible. For example the old manganese dioxide and more recent "alkaline" batteries- the ones you throw away when discharged. The most common storage battery is the lead/acid battery found in cars; in the last 50 years or so, other various "rechargeable" storage batteries have come into the market- based on chemical pairs such as : nickel-cadmium, Lithium ion, Nickel-hydride, and other ingenious combinations. Side reactions and byproducts of the charging/re-charging process eventually render these storage batteries inefficient and they must be replaced. Just to stay a little on topic, lugers do not require batteries.

Yes, quite right- that is the front sight found on the Colt Woodsman of the early years. A fine, small adjustable sight for elevation adjustment. I'm thinking(always dangerous) that this may actually be a .22 conversion/creation, and the hammer is simply there to operate the toggle to charge the pistol.

TBLAP has some great pics of the flashlight Luger itself, on page 1682 of the DVD.
