Anyone with pictures of rusty Lugers? - Page 2

A little off-topic, but here are some pictures of two german planes taken out of a lake (18 sept.2004) close to where I live;

They are in VERY good shape!

Very interesting photos The markings on the plane are clearly visible. Hope these are going to wind up in a muesum over . Do you know what will happen to them?

The reason why the planes where lifted out is because the lake is the primary water source for Trondheim city.

They was on 70 meters depth and are now going to museums in Norway and Germany. It's estimated that it will take 15-20 000 hours of work to restore one plane.

Interesting rusty Luger.
Notice the bullets inside the rusted magazine.

What a sad ending for great Mauser Luger... (How can you tell it is a Mauser? The grip frame "hump" is still visible even after all these years of rusting...)

I am glad that the extractor isn't in the UP position, which would indicate that there was a round in the chamber...

I think it would be great to have a wall display of such guns... you could title it the "relics of war"...
