Well I guess that settles that then. I guess it is an "m". It makes sense as I have been doing some research and it seems a fair number of these were brought into Canada in the 1980's
kurusu, do you know why is the finish on the example you posted has such a rough texture? It almost looks parkerized. |

I don't think that happened until after WW2, as Hitler heavily supported the Frakturschrift. Respectfully, Sieger |

Go ahead and start a new thread for your new pistol. The PAL is a police unit mark, there are several other things to note about your pistol such as the Erfurt sideplate on an otherwise DWM made pistol. But lets not hijack the original thread. Welcome to the forum.

686,
I'm curious to know - 4" barrel Lugers are not legal in Canada (nothing under 105mm), so how is it you can own this one?

Some Canadians have a "grandfathered" license or some such that allows them to keep/have the shorter barreled luger. Another class weapon permit requires a minimum barrel length of about 4.3" IIRC. That last 0.3" or 0.4" makes a really significant difference, to some bureaucrat! JMHO ![]()

Yeah.... the difference is to ban entire classes of handguns. Like military Lugers.
