The circle is showing crossed swords and is a commercial trade mark of "Franken und Lüneschloss" which was located in Suhl.

You're absolutely correct, I'm part of other forums too (mainly 1911 but also SIG and Glock), but such an old fashion word like "camaraderie" I believe belongs only to this forum.

Pepsi, As said above this pistol would have had a dated chamber when it left Erfurt. I agree with Ron Wood, that this pistol was reworked by the Germans after 1939, due to the Nazi era commercial eagle/n stamped over the WW1 proof. Also that it also went thru the Birmingham cross swords proofing over the Erfurt inspector's markings. Interesting, but still probably just a shooter. TH

![]() Quote:
The Artillery model in the link you have above is a gun that has been extensively refinished commercially. While at some point it may have been surplused by the government of Germany and sold into the civilian market, this is not a commercial Luger, but a refinished military Erfurt Luger.

I'm certainly not John, but IMHO the listed firearm could have a replacement upper receiver OR it could have had the date obliterated. Regardless of the case, again IMHO, that seller is full of beans...

I don't know who made the ammo. Not my area of knowledge. But yes, Erfurt also made rifles.

Pepsi,
Your LP.08 shows signs of significant buffing as well as re-bluing over pitting, thus John Sabato's observations... It's, shall we say, "distinctive"... And it should make a great shooter! I looked at the listing (which should be found in the fiction section), and I'm curious about the proofs stamped on the back of the frame. Does anyone have a proposed run-down on what's going on there?

That listing isn't for the gun in question, but was instead used as an example of the commercialization process. For info. only.
I agree that the frame was clearly refinished, among other deficiencies. dju |
