[B] Finally, nearly finished. This is my Luger Forum .30 shooter. Just goes to show that it pays to be a member of this and Jan Still's forum. With the help of the members, I have a nice, albeit mismatched, shooter. For a total investment of less than $400 , so far.
The "enigma" .30 upper was purchased from Tom Heller. The upper was refinished by Ted Green. The grips I got from George Anderson. The small parts for the frame from Marc "Kidvet" The toggle train from a member who's name escapes me, Sorry! The frame is from a non-active member, who contacted me. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And , yes. It is unit marked. ![]() All I need is a Trigger spring, Takedown lever spring and a Holdopen. Thanks guys!, Ron ![]()

Hi Ed,
It is becoming one of my favorites. Can't wait to get the last three parts so I can take it out and try it. I may borrow them from my other shooter. Ron

Hey Ron,
Nice effort...I think you will really enjoy shooting a 6" .30 cal. luger...! BTW...what is the story behind the "1917 N" chamber markings...??? p.s. I can help on the TD lever srping. Send me your address to pebbink@pacbell.net and I will get one in the mail to you...FREE...! No need for you to continue to rob graveyards for missing, important parts... ![]() |

I've a spare holdopen floating around I think, but no spring. I'm not home right now but I'll look it out if you want it.

Hello Ron,
That is a nice looking L¶¶ger. I know you are proud of it and can't wait to try it out. I always liked shooting the 30 Luger more than the 9mm. It just seems to have a smoother and quicker recoil. Enjoy,

Hi Chester,
How have you been? Haven't heard from you for awhile. Thanks, it's not a collector by any means, but I guess that's why I like it. I can shoot it without gritting my teeth before each shot. Stu, If you find it let me know what you want for it. Thanks! Pete, I truly appreciate it. As far as the "1917 N". It's anybodies guess. I have posted it everywhere trying to find out something. Nobody knows what it is. Hence the 'Enigma" discription. Ron

Well, Ron, I'll add my praise. Nice looking and interesting gun.
This will probably unsettle some who are pure collectors, but the purpose of firearms is to fire. There's something sad about a gun which is never shot. Enjoy, and give us a range report when possible. |

G.T.'s magazine bottom. It really dresses up the old shooter. He does fantastic work. The Swiss style insert adds eligant class to it.
Thanks G.T., It is a beauty! I also have to add Pete Ebbink to the mix. Thanks for the take down lever spring Pete. Ron ![]() ![]() ![]()

Hi Ron, I'm happy to be able to add to your shooter project... looks as if I left a bit of stain on the disc.. you can just wipe it off with a small rag or patch... But, after you get your rig up and running, i'm more interested in how your re-tuned mag. functions! If you depress the follower a few times, you'll notice how much smoother and more consistant it feels... Best to you Ron, and thanks for the kind words... til.....lat'r....GT

Hi Richie,
Yup, it's not going anywhere. It's my 9mm shooter. Ron

This the "6 Foot" Navy that Richie was referring to. I bought it from him a couple of years ago.
A 1937 S/42 Mauser that someone rebuilt into a Navy Luger using an original Navy rear sight toggle link, and a turned down and shortened Artillery barrel. They even used the fine tune front sight band from the arty barrel. It is a very nice and accurate shooter. ![]() ![]() ![]()
