Very Rare unit mark / holster

[B]By now most of you know that I have a preferrence for Weimar unit marked or "grafitti" stuff.

I was cruising the auctions not long ago. And stopped to look at an S/42 Luger. Don't know why, because I usually blow past Mausers, as they are not in my frame of interest.

It was a nice S/42 with a "throw in" 1915 holster. I moved down to the holster photos and noticed that it was oddly unit marked. After a bit of rapidly searching GÃ?Â¶rtz and Bryan. I decided to contact the seller.

I convinced him that the holster really shouldn't go with the pistol, because the holster was Weimar unit marked and the S/42 was WWII vintage. I mean ,how tacky can you get. Long story short, he agreed to sell the holster separately.{/B]

Nothing special about the holster itself. A nice clean 1915, in very good condition.

Someone has scraped a small spot to remove a marking on the back.

It has been altered with the addition of a rod pouch.

Makers mark is unusual from others I have seen. It has a "patent" stamp. And the makers name has been rubbed and is illegible.

The unit mark is for The Reichswehr Ministerium (The War Ministry) N.B. 47. N.B. translates to Nachrichtentruppe( communications unit) Berlin or possibly BÃ?Â¼ro (office). Weapon 47. If I could find the matching marked Luger. I would die a happy man. The odds are, it ain't gonna happen!

This holster could quite possibly have been in the presence of Gen. von Seeckt, Adm. Raeder, Irwin Rommel and many other German military leaders. This is what leads me to collect "Grafitti" Lugers and holsters.

Just wanted to share. (and brag a bit.)
