Default Luger Holster

Inside mag. and cleaning rod pouches. Belt loops plus brass hangers. Only mark is an IV between the belt loops. Some GI had his name in ink on the inside flap. Can't read the name, looks like Pvt in front of name. Also inked handwritten "luger" 42 and a serial number (can't read). Fits a luger perfectly and impressions show long-time luger use. Came with a German loop, brass-tipped cleaning rod. I have had it for 30 years or so. Any ideas on origin?

It is not a holster for a German military Luger. According to Vanderlinden's new book, it is Lithuanian military holster for the FN Browning High Power. Time period 1936-1940.

Wlyon, I agree it's not your ordinary military hard shell, but an interesting design offering max protection to gun and accessories. Probably a German shoemaker "Special" as were most shoulder holsters. TH
