Default Stock attaching iron from UK.

http://www.gunsamerica.com/guns/976370656.htm

I've given up trying to find a board stock, original or repro, for my arty
and was thinking of making my own using this iron from cmr in the UK.

Will it be any good?

Would I need any other metal parts?

Thanks so much,

Eric

Default Attaching Iron

Hi:

Just a few years ago, these were available here from several sources.

The problem is, that according to BATFE rules, only original stocks (or exact reproductions) can be attached to LP-08s and P-04s.

Oh well.

Sieger and Eric,

Go to this link http://www.lugerforum.com/BATF.html to see what the ATF says about reproduction shoulder stocks.

Default Luger Stocks

Hi:

Yes, I've seen this letter before. It accompanied my Odin reproduction stock I purchased several years ago. The Odin stock is a perfect reproduction of the original stock, in dimensions anyway.

I suppose if one were to reproduce a stock to the exact original specs., the BATFE would be satisfied. I've haven't seen any of these offered lately.

Strangely, stocks for the Mauser C-96 and Browning P-35 seem to be available from China currently.

CMR in the UK reports that they will shortly have repro stocks for $142 pp. Unless I find a reasonably priced original I'll order one. I"ll tell the forum what I think of it.
I was going to trace the shape of an original, cut it out, and fit the iron to, that would meet BATFE requirements.
Thanks,

Eric

Eric, the stock you propose fabricating would have to be an exact duplicate in all aspects to pass ATF muster... that includes the cutout recess and strap slots...

Last time I looked, repro wood was available from Sarco and Gunpartscorp.com...
