Strawing Question
I came upon an interesting fact that I was unaware of....
It seems that the early Swiss Strawing was done in such a way that the Diced parts of the takedown lever, safety lever, and mag release were blued after strawing. Was this practice originated at DWM or was it strictly a Swiss varient? FGR |

Re: Strawing Question
Hi Frank! I heard this very same thing from a collector probably 10 years ago, although he seemed to indicate it was all original strawed Luger parts...outside of this one conversation, I have never seen or heard anymore on the subject, whatever was done to the color checkering wasn't done with a lot of gusto, as they all look pretty bland in this area.....interesting though.....till...later....G.T.

Re: Strawing Question
My feeling us I don't care. That is one beautiful Luger in the picture. Those Swiss knew how to take care of their weapons. I got a 1906 'Cross in Shield' and I am going to oil and clean it as soon as I get off the net just to show how much I love it. Gotta make sure though that I don't take any of that Whale Sperm off of the straw.

Re: Rust blued M1900 on cover
An exellent restoration job. One just doesn't find these 100 year old guns this nice or with this dark a rust blue (normally lightened by Ultra violet rays) unless they've been restored.
