I have done a lot or research on German weapons from the Third Reich period and I have never heard of a "Firebird" 9mmP pistol or machine pistol. The only thing I can think of is when the British Sten gun was tested for German service. After manufacturing a small amount, the Heereswaffenamt decided the British Sten was not suitable as a weapon for the Wehrmact because of the unreliability of the design, so the project was dropped. I wonder if this could have been a code name for the project? Sorry I can;t help further.
