Default To repair or not to repair

Have a 1913 Eckart holster that has been coverted from WW I to police standards. The loop for the strap pull through that was sewn onto the flap during the conversion is missing however. Has excellent brown leather with strong stitching throughout and over all is in very good to excellent condition. Advice on whether I should replace the loop or leave well enough alone. Would also appreciate a ball park figure on the value as I picked it up some years ago along with my Krieghoff/DWM police luger so I have no idea of what the holster may be worth on its own merit. Appreciate any help you can give me.
