AGE; Pardon me if I looked at something wrong, but are you saying the gun has a two-digit ONLY serial number, with no four-digit number anywhere? This has nothing to do with the '42' on the chamber top. In other words, you can see John D's Luger with the four-digit serial number on the left side of the barrel extension, and the last two digits of the four-digit number on other parts. If yours has only a two-digit serial number, it means it was from the first 99 guns in the 'k' block. They didn't put zeroes in front of low numbers. I'm no expert, but I chimed in because I thought you were asking about a two-digit serial number.
