I use a punch just big enough to go through the hole at the bottom of the strut, a third hand would be helpful, but not nessary. Simply brace the frame, with the punch through the hole you can get a two sided grip and compress and unhook, this is where the third hand is nice. really not as hard as some make it out to be....to replace spring, use same punch and again brace frame and compress spring until it hooks....use a large well padded vice, and invite a friend to help you.
