Default FAKED CAPTURE PAPERS

I just got my new issue of the napca magazine. In it was an about some faked capture papers being sold on EBAY. I just want to pass it along. Check out item # 1118265908. The item is still on EBAY. BUYER BEWARE!

The article in Auto Mag also metioned another bit of fakery in the holster area. But the EBAY sale was pulled by EBAY. It involved post-war Italian Beretta holster embossed with a High Party nazi eagle with Kreigmarine proofs and an embossed 1944 date. This is being sold by Steve Gane Antique Arms & Armour of Millon, England.

The article also reports that reproduced waffenamt stamps are becoming wide spread and are being used in dubious ways on dubious articles. Waffenamt 23,47,63,162,163,170,179,270,280,320, 359,383,416,623,663,920 and D20.

Keep these people in mind and DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM!!!!!!! Watch yourself.

Waffenampt stamps..hmm..easy way to turn a $9.00 loading tool into a $50.00 loading tool..provided you can sell it to someone who doesn't have a real loading tool to compare it to.

Another reason to assign no additional value to a weapon accompanied by so-called "capture papers." The gun speaks for itself, telling us the manufacturer, date of manufacture, military or civilian classification, etc. All the papers do is tell us what we already know, that the weapon was once possessed by a foreign entity, and now it resides in the U.S.A. There should be no particular interest in the fact that permission was officially given to bring it back. It should be just as valuable to us even if it was smuggled home in a duffle bag.

A large quantity of blank forms was reported located several years ago. A blank form appeared on eBay within the past two years. It is possible a pad or pack of forms survived the years and will turn up from time to time. I suspect most were thrown in a dump years ago.

Sometimes I feel real good about reporting something. This is one of those times. I hope that I have prevented someone on this forum from paying more for a luger just because it had capture papers. They may be fake and the buyer may be getting ripped off by an unscrupulous seller.
