I am almost reluctant to mention the S word again. Hugh suggested a stainless Baby. At the 2000 KC show I displayed one of my Baby Luger conversions. Mr Romo expressed interest in it. I loaned it to him to take to various shows for about a year. He had hoped to generate enough interest for him to produce a Stainless baby. Not long ago we discussed my converting one of his stainless Lugers for him. I didn't mean to stir the pot. I seldom shoot a Luger--only when restoring or reparing. They all look good to me. Some better than others of course. It is the shape--design--the way that they look that turns me on. Never saw a Luger that didn't catch my eye. No kidding I have a few toy Lugers. In my opinion--if I was looking for the ultimate target pistol, combat pistol, or my life depended on it defense pistol---a Luger would never be my my first choice. But I still "love em"

NOW I KNOW who you are Art! I have seen pictures of a baby you made for Tom Armstrong!! Is that correct! Hugh is making Baby #3 for me! That stainless steel might be a little hard to weld? Dont know for sure! What ya think? I love all Lugers, even squirt guns!

Yep--that is me. Stainless cam be welded. I don't have equipment. Welding is small part of Baby conversion. I would clamp frame pieces in fixture and take to local weld shop. Gotta keep a low profile now--didn't realize anyone out there would recognize me.

I have to exprees a little different opinion here.
I think the Luger makes a wonderfull base for a targetpistol. I do actually shoot better our targetconversions than I do with any other kind of centerfire handgun. But of course they are based on MAuserlugers from the 30-40th as the steelquality during this period is above the others(I belive). Regards HÃ?Â¥kan http://www.vapensmedjan.com |

Art ; with a little practice with a TIG or MIG welder and the proper wire you will soon be able to surpass your wildest imagination . Just practice a lot before you try a waluable or irreplaceable item .
If you can weld at all, these tools soon become old hat comfortable . ViggoG |
