Stainless Luger History

I think that there has been a bit of an over reaction to things that Spuhr and I have said. Words like 'intolerant', 'putting down other members' I am sure was not the purpose of either Spuhr or me. While I agree with Spuhr on a number of points. I do disagree that the Stainless Steel is the worse gun ever made. I have seen a lot of worse guns on the program 'History Of The Gun'. But since Spuhr is a serious shooter and gun guy, I can fully understand where he is coming from and I appreciate his input.

But I believe that one of the purposes of this forum is to inform and to help others understand the world of collecting. There are some serious misgivings about the SS lugers and new people should be aware of these misgivings. The market place has voted on these new guns and it has said that the SS guns do not compare to the original lugers. If merely saying that is 'intolerant' then something is really wrong. I have seen political correctness in the newspapers every day and I understand how it has misinformed the public. But if you want to say that the SS guns are high quality, collector grade lugers then that is OK with me. I will continue the read between the lines or just not read certain articles just as I do with the daily news on TV and in the printed word. If you believe in censorship, then I will accept your decision. But I will also get additional information from other sources just like I do with the news media. So while I think that Spuhr's language was strong, I do believe that he is in the proper forum to state his opinion.
