Hi Pete,
Yes I did pick up that 1920 nickle plated DWM Luger. At first I really was not interested, but then much later on Friday as I was walking down the aisle in that area it called out and said "buy me". I went over to look down the bore to make sure that it could at least be a good shooter as we all know it has no collector value. As I was looking at the bore the seller said "if you have a use for it you can have it for $400". At the time of purchase the bore looked to be about - good. After I got it home and cleaned it up the bore rates a solid - very good +. All of the numbers match, even the firing pin is numbered. I have had it out shooting and it fires magazine after magazine without any malfunctions. I am happy with this purchase as it has turned out to be a good shooter without any additional work or parts. Thanks for pointing out this nice little Luger and for sharing your knowledge of Luger collecting with me. I had an excellent time at the show and meeting so many nice LF people just made it all the better. I wish my local gun shows were half as good. I'm looking forward to the next Reno Show. Take Care, Scott |
