Unit Markings;
Last week end at an auction, I bought two more Lugers. (This seems to be happening every weekend lately). One is a 1910 DWM, number 1186c matching numbers in the military range but are located in the commercial style. Military proofs one of which I have not seen before. Looks something like a crown over a stylized 3. It has the hold open devise fitted with an arsenal proof along side the hold open pin. (as per the description on page 160 of Mr. Kenyons Lugers at Random.) Is this a first Issue? The unit marks are 117.R.M.G. 22. The second is a 1916 DWM Artillery model serial number 7297a with unit marks 95R.2K.46. Can anyone help with some information please, Murray, Great Barrier Island New Zealand. |

Thanks for your message Derek. Both guns are very nice and I am pleased at the prices. I am not sure if I know Robert or not. We tend to not use surnames as a form of security over here. I have no doubt met him at one of the local gun shows or auctions.
Thanks for your help. Regards, Murray |
