I started chopping trees in the rain to build an ARK day before yesterday. I am out at a drilling rig between Houston and Beaumont and go home Wednesday. I only live about 30 Miles north of here, but don't know if I will be able to get to my house or not. I live 1 1/2 miles off the highway across a creek. Right now there is water from the highway to within 100 yds of the house. Thankfully it is on high ground. My wife Minta has been stranded there for two days, and it will be another two or three before the water in the creek goes down enough to drive in or out. She says she is ok, has electricity, water and satelite TV. She was complainng about the internet connection being out yesterday, but it appears to be working now, because I am logged on to the same connection. We didn't catch it as bad as Houston, but will get a lot of the run off water from that local. May not get much Luger work done this next week!

Houston got 28" and then two days later got another 32". The Methodist Hospital bottom floor was flooded. The whole city was just about shut down as all the freeways were under water.

We keep hoping that system will move on to the east. We have a drought in Georgia.

Hugh,
I have been thinking about you with all the rain. Please keep us informed on how Minta. We will keep you and all the others in the area in our prayers for the rain to subside and not cause anymore deaths. The news this morning said this "tropical depression" has caused more deaths than a hurricane. Take care and keep us informed. Marvin |
