Default Luger Takedown tool

Newbee here, but I really am learning a lot about my lugers.

In the holster lives a little takedown tool, but I have yet to find out what it really is used for. I know it works well to retract the clip spring when reloading, but there must be more to it than that. I went through the take down instructions in the tech information section, and it was never used there.

Default Re: Luger Takedown tool

Good question. The screwdriver end is used to remove the only two screws on the gun, the grip screws. It is also useful if you want to remove the firing pin. It is held by a retainer (which is spring loaded and is aimed at your eyes so wear safety glasses). The takedown/loading tool and a pin punch do a marvelous job of almost completely disassembling the Luger pistol.
