Markings on Two Lugers
I need some help on markings. The first is on an Erfurt made 1917 with 1920 stamped above the 1917. The front grip strap is marked 2./R.R:18.44.
The second was made by DWM in 7.65 caliber. No date on the receiver. The grip strap is marked RBDMg150. Thanks for any help.

The 1920 stamp over the chamber of your 1917 Erfurt is a Reichswehr armory applied property stamp. It was applied sometime between Sept. 1920 and March 1921. I am uncertain as to the 2./R.R.18.44. applied to the front strap. I would guess that it means 2 Eskadron of 18 Reiter-Regiment weapon 44. Jan C. Still |
