Hello TC,

I have been doing great, but working a lot of hours and not having much time for the Forums. I try to read the postings, but don;t have much time to respond.

Back to your Luger, are the 020 stamps part of the unit marking? I have one Luger with similar stamps on the back of the frame, but the unit stamp on the gripstrap has been removed.

Is your 1929 in the "s", "t", or "u" suffix range? I just picked up a nice 1929 in the "t" range with the Landsjagerei, Hildesheim stamp on the front gripstrap. This is one of the so called, "sneak", Police Lugers that I find to be very interesting. Mine has the sear safety and the magazine safety. The mag safety is not operations, but was deactivated by "rounding" off the metal near the trigger. Most were deactivated by just snipping off the tab. Also, my pistol has the Commercial style numbering. I feel that possibly these were intended for the commercial market, but diverted to the Police. The barrel length is 4", and 9mmP cal., which was against the Treaty regulations. I have wondered if they were just stamped to appear like commercial pistols and really intended for the Military or Police anyway. A very interesting time for Lugers.
