Post Opinions? Navy holster, eBay

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...243423393&rd=1

Before I give my opinion, does anyone care to venture theirs on this interesting holster? I have my own ideas but would like to hear what others on the Forum think of it's authenticity and interesting markings. Quite a story to go along with this one! Jerry Burney

Probably a Commercial Navy holster to be attached to a stock. In my opinion, the brown color of the holster suggests that it is more likely Commercial than Military. The magazine pouch is definitely of commerical style.

Cheers,
Albert

The mag pouch is phake and I believe the holster is foney. I don't think I could be tempted to buy anything from this person even if she were rubbing up against me. Note the feedback; multiple buys at low prices by slmd3dr and salemod...interesting. Looks as though it could be shill bidding.

AH George, A man after my own heart...I agree that this is a very nicely made reproduction.I think it's quite old as well. There are several tell tale signs that this not original.Take a close look at the closure stud. Not at all like it should be. The stock block is not sewn in the middle like it should be either. It is sewn into the right area though. All in all I would guess this is an early reproduction, sometime early post war. Probably German in construction. It is very high quality. The double magazine pouch is not so good. I rate it much less in quality than the holster itself. For those of you who might be looking at Imperial Navy 6" holsters, this one is a good lesson.
I did not notice the feedback as George did but I am sure what he says is a distinct possibility. I will have to look that over closely.

Hi Guys,

Seen about 4 similar looking rigs, complete with wooden stock, on different tables on the last Ciney, Belgium show. Asking price was always about 200EUR. Seems about right for a reproduction, but I doubt they're early ones. The stocks were very light in color and very obvious reproductions. I guess that's why this seller opted to delete the stock
