All,
The moon was in the seventh house and Hitlerary was being exposed for the promoter of fabrications she is, when, out of God's own heaven, within a week, I have two great scores. 1. The most beautiful 6" Navy holster I have ever seen in deep chocolate PIGSKIN complete with a PIGSKIN double mag pouch. The pieces are something a Navy leather-lover could dream about. Tight white linen stitching, crisp edges and a flawless craftsmanship that is unequaled in anything I have come across in my nearly 50 years (Am I that old?)of collecting. A truly wonderful ensemble. Pictures to follow. 2. A 1st Torpedo Division '06 in what is close to the best condition I have encountered. As time permits, I will do the photo thing, but it won't be soon due to work and family obligations, but suffice it to say, it is one of the best '06 ISSUE guns I have ever seen. Oh, FWIW, the holster and mag pouch were magnificently crafted by our own (and my former 173D Airborne comrade in arms), Jerry Burney. I will pair them with my Mauser Navy Commerative, (SN 11) as a fine modern-made Luger should have an equally fine holster. I have no doubt that there is no finer Navy holster extant today. So, to Jerry, thank you, my friend, <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" /> from the bottom of my heart for such magnificent workmanship, and special thanks for the "extra" that you so graciously sent. Paratroopers stick together always. AIRBORNE. Tom A. |
