John,
You really need all three volumes, but you absolutly need Vol. 1 &2. Vol. 1 contains the information on the Walther pistol and Vol. 2 contains information on the mauser and Spreewerk pistols. Vol 3 contains information which was added after 1 & 2 were published. These 3 Vol are the best ever printed so far on the P.38. I have heard that a Vol 4 is in the planning stages by Warren Buxton, but I don't know when it will be published. It is supposed to contain information on magazines, holsters, and addendums to the first 3 Vol. If possible, get the set from Tom Heller because the price on e-bay was much higher than what Tom is asking. Also, don't worry about offending the Luger collection, they are "blood brothers"! Marvin |
