Post Another question about lugers

After finding this board I realized I may have done a stupid thing. I purchase a captured PO8 from a WWII Vet (friend of the family.) It was a bring back with the holster and bring back papers from the US Govt. He said he obtained it in a Govt warehouse in Germany. Now the stupid thing...I SOLD IT. I needed cash a few years ago and sold the holster and weapon. The only thing I rememer were it had a 4" barrel, a stainless looking mag and the number 42 stamped all over it. It also has a weimar eagle on the top and the letters DMW. I still have the bring back papers. It had about 80% bluing and the holster was okay. It had a bit of rust on one side because it sat in the holster in the closet for 20 years. Sold it for 400.00. Did I get robbed??? Its eating at me now!!!

Hi,

Well, you didn't exactly make a profit, but 400$ was a reasonable price a few years ago.

Today, a similar pistol may set you back about triple the amount you sold it for.

Matt,
We all have made mistakes and regrets in selling or even buying guns, to include lugers. The best thing to do is to find another, regrets will just be an irritant, unless you know who, you sold it to, then offer then $700 for it,
