Larry T,
</font><blockquote><font size="1" face="Verdana,Tahoma,Arial,Helvetica,Geneva">quote:</font><hr /><font size="2" face="Verdana,Tahoma,Arial,Helvetica,Geneva">The mag is the correct Nazi era but unmatched with SN 7934h + with E/83 proof.</font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana,Tahoma,Arial,Helvetica,Geneva">* You are correct on this being a 1938 vintage mag. The sE/83 Acceptance was used beginning in 1938. This mark essentially runs out shortly after 1939 started in the 1939,s/42 variation.
* Proper mag for your 1940/42, S/N 9013g is as Ed stated....Type III Mauser Military: Mfg. Code 122(Haenel), extruded tube, blued, with alum. concave center pinned base bearing the S/N including the suffix letter and the sE/655 WaA Inspector's acceptance. A "+" may appear if it is the 2nd mag (spare).
Respectfully,
WR
