Could not agree more with the steamed tac foley; a major divide exists amongst those who inhabit Great Britain, Ireland and the Mainland of Europe and that seems to be the relative degree of Weasel-like behavior exhibited by the people and their humorous attempts at governance.
Having spent many years living in Germany and traveling through the other countries of Europe, it never ceased to amaze me at the comic opera nature of some countries' officials and their peculiar notions of what was right and wrong. I think the most vexing observation I made along these lines after having lived there for 13 years over 3 decades was that the more insignificant the country was in the grander scheme of the world, the more arrogant and asenine were the petty officials. My contribution to world peace and mutual understanding. Tom A. For more on this subject, I recommend you read John Cleese's excellent piece on the Axis of Not So Evil that is floating around on the net. |
