My year 2000 gun has the flat side magazines and a vintage one will not work. It just kind of flops around in the frame. My gun came with one with a black plastic bottom but the extras that I have since ordered have a brown plastic bottom with an eagle crest on them. This is a definite improvement as far as I am concerned. The color is close to the dark walnut grips.
