Sorry for the delay of my response...I seemed to have missed your question, until now... I wondered the same thing about how the magazine is removed if pushed into the pouch all the way to close the flap. The fit is very tight and there are no circular cut-outs on the sides of the leather pouch where the woodend magazine bottom "buttons" occur. I have used a small piece of thin, sturdy twine (rope). I loop it around the top of the magazine before I insert it into the pouch. I pull on the twine until the bottom of the magazine clears the pouch and then can easily pull it out completely by pulling on the wooden buttons...
