Post Eagle N proofmark?

Does an Eagle N proofmark on a barrel mean that the weapon is from the WW2 era? I thought crown n was pre war and that when the Nazi era began that firearms (in this case a walther pp) were proofed with eagle n's. I also understand that the barrel could have been changed. Once the Nazi era ended did Walther continue to use eagle n proofs? I realize that this is off the beaten path for a luger forum but you guys seem to be very knowledgeable about such things. Thx Much.
