Some old ammo...
Hi everyone,
I need some help Can someone help me put some approximate dates of manufacture on those 3 boxes of old ammo. They are set to go in my 1910's gun cabinet... The Winchester box is interesting: inconplete in a poor condition but the only one like that I was lucky to lay my hands on. Headstamp reads: W.R.A. 9MM, brass case with a purple sealer around the primer...probably corrosive I guess... Kidvett <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" /> |

I'd like to know about the .25 ammo, I've got a full box of .45 exactly like that. The Winchester
appears to be military contract. The last time I used any civilian procured pistol ammo (.22 Olin) the box had no colors and appeared very much the same. If its military, Winchester had no use to produce 9mm for US military contracts until much later, they could however have made it for GB/Commomwealth countries under Lend Lease during WWII. rk |
